The following are a few cool sites which you might like to check out, either because they're run by wargaming buddies who share my interests and view of wargaming, or else they supply wargaming toys which are well worth having!

South East Scotland Wargames Club, my local Edinburgh wargaming group, and the fellas who run the Claymore show

Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Toys of War, Dougie Trai''s Blog - giving a fresh (and scurrilously biased) angle on the games we play in the Edinburgh club!

Loughton Strike Force , my old London club which covers East London & Essex

Phil Olley's War Cabinet , which contains more about his great collection of lead

The Perfect Captain, home of those free English Civil War and Crusade rules and much more

Smoke on the Water , the free ACW Naval rules can be downloaded from the Canis Publications site

The League of Augsburg , the site where Barry Hilton and Dave Imrie reveal their miniature world

Mike Siggins Miniatures Pages , a great all-round wargaming resource and source of inspiration

TM Terrain , a great source for custom-made terrain, and the place I buy my best flags from

Military Dispaches, Dave O'Brien's figure painting site - a wargaming buddy from Edinburgh

Pioneer Professional Painting , the figure painting site of another core Edinburgh gamer, Jack Glanville

Hodgenet , the wargame site run by Edinburgh gamer Derek Hodge which includes useful photo tips

Battlegames Magazine  The latest and probably the best wargame magazine around

Caliver Books , "Baz" publishes Battlegroup Panzer Grenadier, and has been keeping me in rules and books for donkeys years

General de Brigade , the "blog" and discussion area for Dave Brown's rules, including Battlegroup Panzer Grenadier

The Miniatures Page , the place to look for any of the manufacturers I've mentioned and a lot more besides

The Wargames Directory, a really useful resource for wargamers

Angus Konstam , the website where I wear my author's hat rather than my wargaming one

Bear's Den Miniatures , a one-lad company whose designer gets better with each new release

Tarleton's Quarter , a truly inspirational "blog" by Giles Allison, showcasing his AWI and Napoleonic collections

Die Alte Fritz  Journal - An excellent example of how a wargaming blog should be, full of tricornes, and covering the best of the Age of Reason.

Darrel Hindley's Painting Page  - a very interesting figure painting site and blog by one of my Edinburgh wargaming compadres, and a fine painter.
